Patches Trending for Fall/Winter 2019 Season
Patches are one of the emerging hat trends for the Fall/Winter 2019 season that we are seeing at retail level. Shown here is a combination patch/embroidery look.
The plane is embroidered onto patch material which is then sewn on to the cap and then additional embroidery was done for the “AJM” in the sample photo above.
Patches instantly give a hat an 3D look/feel and helps to make logos come to life.
The edges of a patch can be finished or left raw, such as they did on this cap. Raw edges look especially great on distressed caps giving the finished cap a grunge look. This works really well if you are celebrating a milestone anniversary year for your business, i.e. Celebrating 40 years.
The last time patches were big was in the late 80’s and 90’s. Remember the Lacoste Crocodile? Everything from the 90’s seems to be hot right now. The reboot of the TV show 90210 this month is an example of how we seem to be turning back to that decade right now with fond nostalgia.
Talk to your marketing specialist here at mobo to see how we can incorporate a patch into your hat designs. They also work great on toques and with winter right around the corner now is the time to start discussing your winter hat needs.
