mobo was awarded the Bronze Image Award at the PPPC NATCON19 Conference in Mississauga on Wednesday, September 11th, 2019.
The Award was for best campaign in the category of Professional Consumer. We were recognized for our work with our client Rack Petroleum in late 2018.
The Rack, a leading Petroleum Distributor, was looking for something truly unique that spoke to their industry and the services they provide. The product had to help them stand our from their competitors at two major trade shows in 2019 while helping to create some “buzz” and excitement among the attendees. Most importantly though, it had to provide them with new leads and subsequent business. They came to us with the idea of personalized Jerry Cans which we produced for them.
Once we ruled out a custom mold due to minimum units, we sourced a supplier and brought in samples. We then began to experiment with the client’s art to maximize the impact stickers might be able to make on the cans. After several drafts were shown to our client we collectively landed on three strategically placed stickers for each of the 3000 5L cans.
The Rack judged the promotion a success based on their audience feedback and lead cards filled out at the shows – some of which turned into fuel sales afterwards. A fuel sale can represent $1000 – $2000/sale with larger products in the $40K range.
This project also invigorated our internal staff as we had to think outside of the box and be innovative in finding a customized, cost-effective and impactful solution.
Shannon Walker, of the Rack said, “The Jerry Cans were a major hit with trade show attendees! We had attendees walk by to ask for a Jerry Can and end up engaging in meaningful conversations. The Jerry Cans have also been received very well by our current customers. It is something useful as well as unique. Not just another ball cap!”
